About the Honor

Recognizing impact… not a substitute for an academic degree

The Honorary Doctorate is an honorary distinction awarded in recognition of an outstanding career or a significant contribution in a professional, humanitarian, scientific or cultural field. Nomination files are reviewed before any decision is made.

Important notice: The Honorary Doctorate is not an earned academic qualification and does not entitle its holder to practice a regulated profession, obtain equivalence for a university degree, or enroll in an academic program requiring a research doctorate.
